Tyler Singleton

LCSW

Tyler is a licensed clinician registered in both North Carolina and South Carolina. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Carolina and her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Her professional aim is to support individuals of color in navigating identity formation, experiences of racism, mental health struggles, social media pressures, and school-related stress. She recognizes that individuals often face the complex challenge of negotiating their personal identities within a society that frequently holds limited or stereotyped views of them.

Tyler is no stranger to navigating who people think she “should” be. She has had to overcome challenges with her “place” in this world; whether it be her name or trying to navigate being raised in a place seeped in religion and racially charged historical events. Tyler understands that many grapple with both subtle and overt forms of racism, as well as the pressure to conform, fit in, or maintain a curated image on social media—factors that can intensify feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, or isolation. She also helps clients explore challenges within family dynamics, including generational differences and communication issues.

As a clinician, Tyler specializes in creating a safe, culturally affirming space where clients can explore their unique experiences without fear of judgment. She offers compassionate support in unpacking the impact of both subtle and overt forms of discrimination and societal pressures. Tyler’s integrative approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to explore meaning, reframe challenges, and foster resilience.

Tyler is deeply dedicated to supporting young people as they navigate life’s various challenges. Her professional journey has provided her with diverse opportunities in research, managed care, and direct counseling, giving her a well-rounded understanding of mental health and wellness. Tyler’s personal form of self-care includes traveling and being a self-proclaimed foodie. She has had the privilege of working in both community-based and outpatient settings, experiences that have shaped her holistic and empathetic approach to care.
